PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide oversight, guidance, and coordination of crew to complete structural and pre-fab steel erection projects of all types. Coordinate with project superintendent to maintain schedule, quality, and progress within the specifications of each job. TYPICAL DUTIES: Coordinate tasks with project superintendent and other subcontractors according to priorities and plans/specifications Monitor attendance of crew Procure correct equipment for each job Allocate general and daily responsibilities Have authority, but respect for co-workers in a manner that doesn't create a hostile work environment Supervise and train workers and tradespeople as well as perform the trade Ensure manpower and resources are adequate Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met Supervise, when applicable, the use of machinery and equipment as well as operation Resolve problems when they arise Complete daily reports and documentation Report on progress to managers SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as steel erection foreman and/or the managing of a crew of 3 years In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints Ability to communicate and report effectively Ability to lift 80 pounds Have a positive work attitude Aptitude in math Problem-solving abilities Punctual and On-Time Good physical condition Valid driver's license Clean driving record COMMENTS: Knowledge of multiple disciplines may be required. Makes decisions and recommendations which can greatly impact corporate relationship with Client and profitability of projects under his/her management. Acts without close supervision.
