Your role as a QC MANAGER As the Full Time QC Manager at Met-Con, Inc., you will play a crucial role in coordinating daily activities with CWIs (Certified Welding Inspectors) and QC inspectors at our fabrication steel facilities. Your responsibilities will include addressing and documenting non-conformances, periodically inspecting fabricated materials to ensure compliance with shop drawings, and conducting dimensional layout and part placement inspections. You will also collaborate with QC inspectors, CWIs, shop and field employees to provide additional training, manage our AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) and PCI (Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute) QA/QC programs, and facilitate the annual 3rd party audits. Additionally, you will actively contribute to improving and promoting quality, solve arising issues with production, and perform periodic audits of products and processes in both shop and field settings. Your ability to communicate QA/QC issues to management and provide recommendations for process improvements will be vital. To be successful in the role of Full Time QC Manager at Met-Con, Inc., there are a variety of skills and qualifications required. These include a minimum of 10 years of experience in fabrication steel and welding, along with the ability to read and understand fabrication and construction drawings. A welding certification in D1.1 and/or D1.5 is also necessary, showcasing your expertise in welding standards and practices. You must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in inspecting fabricated material, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) and AWS (American Welding Society). Additionally, the ability to climb ladders and construction stairs during field inspections is required. While a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification is preferred, it is not mandatory.
